The Sydney Roosters are considering a name change.
The news comes after an extremely challengingly season for the roosters. Players, management and supporter are looking for ideas and solutions.
"I think if we do anything it would be to call ourselves the Bondi Roosters," Nick Politis said.
"Bondi Roosters is a strong marketing name. Bondi is well known around the world.
"John Singleton (advertising guru) once said to me we've got to be called the Bondi Roosters."
Last week Hulk Hogan's Hulkamania added some bite to the Roosters with the birth of Rooster-Mania, and The Roosters are looking to add even more muscle to their campaign to help launch a comeback that would do Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler) proud.
News Limited has been interviewing a number of Roosters players, management and fans.
Former Roosters greats Bryan Fletcher and Royce Ayliffe last night backed the name change.
"The more I think about it, the more I like it," Fletcher said. "I grew up in Bondi so I would love it.
"The postcode at Bondi is 2026. They are selling shirts down the beach with that postcode on it.
"Tourists love those Bondi shirts so you could sell Bondi Roosters shirts to the tourists."
Ayliffe, 1980 Grand Final captain liked the proposed name change.
"Bondi is known around the world. It is a terrific idea. There are a few teams known as the Roosters.
But the Bondi Roosters ... you know exactly who they are."

The press conference started friendly enough as most professional wrestling press conferences do.
Fans nor news media did not expect for things to get out of hand at Star City Casino, when Flair and Hogan got into a verbal fight that ended in physical violence and a bloodbath reminiscent of Mario Milano, Ron Miller, Mark Lewin, Abdullah The Butcher and The People's Army.
Numerous news media including Media Man captured the brawl with stills and video, and most Australian network news broadcasts will be running with the story tonight.
Even a professional photographer's camera flash was broken in the mayhem.
Hogan's head was a bloody crimson mess after Flair's punch and whipping with with his belt. Hogan landed hard on the floor and fellow wrestlers helped him to his feet after approximately 10 minutes of recovering. Many of the wrestlers present looked very concerned and helped Hogan get backstage for medical assistance.
Mr Flair and Mr Hogan have been engaged in a long running and heated feud, however this public exchange is understood to be the most violent to date.
Some wrestling insiders were overheard to have said; "Red turns to green" (blood turns to money), however numerous fans and media also noted that the attack was overdone and had "gone to far" and that "Flair shooted" on Hogan.
Hulk Hogan is still extremely excited to be touring and wrestling in Australia for the first time.
He advised the audience that other promoters in the past had billed him to tour Australia without his knowledge only to tell the fans that he could not make it.
Hogan is best known for his legdrop and "Hulkamanic's" while Flair's trademark's include Flair judo chops, figure four leglock, Flair flip and "Wooooo" taunt, something that Hogan is never likely to forget.

WRESTLER Hulk Hogan has been badly injured after a violent bloody brawl broke out at The Hulkamania promotional press conference at Star City today.
The press conference veered violently out of control today as Hulk Hogan and ring rival Ric Flair let their animosity break into a full scale bloody brawl.
Sydney Central’s photographer Phil Rogers has his flash broken when Ric Flair threw a table off the stage and into the press gathering before diving on photographers. See the photo of the Hulk.
Media were stunned as the Hulk’s head began bleeding profusely and confusion broke out when the veteran wrestling star was unable to get to his feet.
This reporter narrowly missed being struck with the table and photographers ducked and weaved as Ric Flair took off his trouser belt and began to whip anyone within range.
The press conference began well with the stars of the tour speaking professionally about their careers and the business.
Hulk Hogan was excited to be touring Australia for the first time.
He said promoters in the past had billed him to tour Australia without his knowledge only to tell the fans that he could not make it.

Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair touch down at Sydney International Airport, by Greg Tingle - 17th November 2009
Professional wrestling living legends, Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair, touched down at Sydney Airport this morning at 6am.
Media Man, Icon Images and some other passionate fans and news media were there to welcome The Hulkster and The Nature Boy.
Also present were Eric Bischoff, Michael Condon (Condon Sports and Entertainment), some security and an attractive female that may have been Ric's new wife (unconfirmed).
Spin Communications had provided Media Man and a host of other news media with the airport arrival tip off the day prior.
The upcoming Hogan VS Flair matches in Australia as part of Hulkamania Let The Battle Begin tour will be the first and last time they meet in the ring on Australian soil.
Hogan is regarded as the most widely recognised professional wrestler of all time and put the wrestling business on the entertainment and Hollywood map in the mid 80's with the Rock N Wrestling connection involving Cindy Lauper and Mr T.
Fueled along by the WWF machine, Hogan took the business to new levels with feuds involving Rowdy Roddy Piper and the late, great, Andre The Giant.

The first 200 wrestling fans to arrive at Star City will be invited into the press conference (first 50 fans will also receive a free Hulk t-shirt) to see the wrestlers in action as they gear up for their Australian tour starting in Melbourne on Saturday 21st November.
Following Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair’s well documented feud, Ric Flair is coming out of retirement to wrestle Hulk Hogan in Australia for one last time. Expect to see tempers flare as the two meet face to face for the first time down under.

The Melbourne Cup is Australia's major Thoroughbred horse race. Billed as The race that stops a nation, it is a race for three-year-olds and over, over a distance of 3,200 metres. It is the richest and most prestigious "two-mile" handicap in the world, and one of the richest turf races in the world. The event is held at around 3 pm on the first Tuesday in November by the Victoria Racing Club, on the Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne.
The race has been held since 1861 (see list of Melbourne Cup winners) and was originally held over two miles (about 3,218 metres) but following preparation for Australia's adoption of the metric system in the 1970s, the current race distance of 3,200 metres was established in 1972. This reduced the distance by 61ft 6in, and Rain Lover's 1968 race record of 3min.19.1sec was accordingly adjusted to 3min.17.9sec. The present record holder is the 1990 winner Kingston Rule with a time of 3min 16.3sec. The world record of 3:13.4 over 3,200 metres is held by Japanese horse Deep Impact.
Public holiday
Melbourne Cup day is a public holiday for all working within metropolitan Melbourne and some parts of regional Victoria, but not for some country Victorian cities and towns which hold their own spring carnivals. This makes it the only Australian holiday to not cover a whole state. For Federal Public Servants it is also observed as a holiday in the entire state of Victoria, and since 2007 also in the Australian Capital Territory known as Family and Community Day replacing Picnic Day.
Off the track
'Fashions On The Field' is a major focus of the day, with substantial prizes awarded for the best-dressed man and woman. The requirement for elegant hats, and more recently the alternative of a fascinator, almost single-handedly keeps Melbourne's milliners in business. Raceday fashion has occasionally drawn almost as much attention as the race itself, The miniskirt received worldwide publicity when model Jean Shrimpton wore one on Derby Day during Melbourne Cup week in 1965.
Flowers, especially roses are an important component of the week's racing at Flemington. The racecourse has around 12,000 roses within its large expanse. Over 200 varieties of the fragrant flower are nurtured by a team of up to 12 gardeners. Each of the major racedays at Flemington has an official flower. Victoria Derby Day has the Corn Flower, Melbourne Cup Day is for the Yellow Rose, Oaks Day highlights the Pink Rose and Stakes Day goes to the Red Rose.
In the Melbourne metropolitan area, the race day has been a gazetted public holiday since 1877, but around both Australia and New Zealand a majority of people watch the race on television and gamble, either through direct betting or participating in workplace cup "sweeps". As of April, 2007 the ACT also recognises Melbourne Cup Race Day as a holiday. In 2000 it was estimated that 80 percent of the adult Australian population placed a bet on the race that year. In New Zealand the Melbourne Cup is the country's single biggest betting event, with carnival race-days held at several of the country's top tracks showing the cup live on big screens.
