Today saw the conclusion of the soccer season for Sydney clubs.
Five Dock took on Burwood in the division 2 finals in a highly anticipated match at Nield Park, Rodd Point.
The past paced match saw a skilled display by both teams.
Five Dock's Perry Zotos was first to score a goal in the first half, in a play set up by local star player Joseph Rinaldi. This was a sign of things to come later in the game, with plays set up in training exercises paying off in actual games.
Burwood retaliated with a goal of their own soon before the the whistle blew on the first half.
The second half commenced with particularly strong ball skills on display by Five Dock, with Rinaldi, Nick Doolan and Zotos leading the attack.
Both teams missed a few chances to score, but Five Dock continues to dominate with superior attack and defence skills.
About 30 minutes into the second half it was time for Rinaldi to score, and minutes later team-mate Zotos did the honours, taking the score to 3-1, which Five Dock maintained to the end.
Coach Peter and team manager Wendy were delighted with Five Dock's game, and overall improvement demonstrated in the season.
Both teams congregated after the game and celebrated the conclusion of the season.
Well done players, coach and all the vocal loyal fans who supported their team this season.
